afpop and Medal Insurance Golf Day

AFPOP

PRESS RELEASE

On Wednesday 14th September Golf for Greys are organising a Golf Day sponsored by Medal Insurance and afpop to be held at the Penina. The Penina (now known as the Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course) was the first resort golf course to be built in Portugal and therefore is unquestionably where golf started in this southern corner of the Iberian Peninsula. Three times British Open champion, the late Sir Henry Cotton was encouraged to visit and lay out a course over a former rice field. On an unpromising wet, treeless site, Cotton grasped the opportunity to renew the British connection with golf in the country and today the beautiful landscaped course is a testament to his foresight.

There are a limited number of tee times available for this event which promises to be a great day out. Green fee including buffet lunch is only 55 euros and there will be cash prizes for ladies and gents. To book please contact Lynn Cook at lynn@golfforgreys.com or loulogs60@hotmail.com.

For more information please contact the afpop office on 282 458 509 or e-mail info@afpop.com
